The other day when someone brought bagels in and left a note on them to help ourselves - I thought is was a wonderful treat - and even wrote "thank you" on the note. Things like that are always happening around me and I never ever share them. I'm always so grateful for those blessings - but lately I've been thinking that I need to share those stories as well. So, I'll start with today - actually.
The client that I work for had an ice cream social for us today. They had vanilla, chocolate or strawberry ice cream with all sorts of toppings. Oreos, vanilla wafers, pineapple, strawberries, cherries (i had lots of cherries) chopped peanuts, walnuts, gummie bears (oh, i'm about to puke - I'm so full) m&m's and finely chopped butterfingers...oh my goodness. It was a WONDERFUL way to finish lunch. Now, if only my stomach would quit hurting. Yesterday - I met my step dad for lunch after waiting forever for the dr. to do her physical. We went to a new local pizza place and had missed their buffet. We order personal pan pizzas and waited. Our waitress brought our drinks and left us. I headed to the restroom - I turned to my daughter and I said "I should steal a piece or 2 of leftover buffet pizza" and wouldn't you know it - but she was standing RIGHT there. (oops...) I apologized and said that I was just kidding and she handed me a plate and said - You've already ordered - help yourself....how cool was that....(and truly I was just kidding.) So, we all enjoyed an extra slice of pizza for lunch. Which filled us up so we had "leftovers" for my son who was just getting out of school. So, what "JOY" has been spreaded over you lately? My wife and I were eating at a local pizza shop - enjoying the buffet. She's been sick and the last few weeks have been difficult as she has a very sick brother. We were getting ready to leave and asked for the check and we were told that our meal was paid for. We did not even know the people that bought our lunch! That was the most exciting thing! I've never, ever had anything like that to happen at all. Thank you - to those who brought joy our way!
